DAVENPORT, Iowa — A website is available to help drivers in Davenport track the progress and locations of work across the city.
Work on hundreds of manholes and dozens of roadways and streets has begun across the city, which will temporarily result in some detours and traffic tie-ups.
Overall, 964 manholes, 26 major roads and 41 neighborhood streets will be worked on. The city is also working on improvements to its sewer system, a $28 million project.
In early May, crews were working on reconstructing and widening East 53rd Street, prompting drivers to detour around the area. This is one of many street improvements for the season ahead, leaders say.
You can find updates on which road are currently being worked on at their website Better Roads Davenport. The website also includes information for text, email or phone notifications on work that's being done
