MUSCATINE, Iowa — Crosswalk replacement at East 2nd and Cedar streets in Muscatine will cause the intersection to be closed for at least a week, according to the Muscatine Department of Public Works.
The closure at the intersection of East 2nd and Cedar streets began at 7 a.m. Monday, June 6, and it will continue through the end of the day Friday, June 10, weather permitting, as crews work to remove and replace two crosswalks.
According to public works, the replacement of the crosswalks across the 300 block of East 2nd Street and the 200 block of Cedar Street is part of the two-year 2nd Street Streetscape Project.
Access to all businesses within the construction area will not be impacted by the road closure. However, the department of public works recommended traffic be detoured to either Mississippi Driver or 3rd Street using Sycamore or Walnut streets during roadwork.
