Powerful Women. Powerful Positions.

WONDER WOMEN is a podcast that showcases the female movers and shakers running and leading businesses, non-profits, governments, and schools across the Quad City Area, Iowa, and Illinois.

EPISODE 13: She is a "Jack" of all trades. Wait, no - a "Jill" of all trades. No, that doesn't seem right, either...

How about a "Kim" of all trades? That's better! Kim Meier is the Managing Partner of Meier Grain and Livestock Farms, LLC in Ridott, Illinois as well as an Associate Sales Representative for Pioneer Brand Seeds.

Overall though, she's a farmer -- and a really awesome one at that.

In this month's podcast episode, this "Wonder Woman" shares her experience of being a third-generation farm girl and taking on tasks that some (not us) would say are "man's work." Kim grew up on a livestock, dairy, and grain farm which was a partnership between her grandparents, her dad and his three siblings before it split into two farms a few years ago.

The oldest of 4 girls and the youngest of the farm's partners, Kim does it all - and more. Farming is her background and in her blood, but she also has a passion for theater.

We are digging deeper in this podcast, though.

When people picture a farmer, they usually picture a man. We ask Kim if she thinks that perception is changing and about some of the "looks" she's received as she grew up in the farming world. She talks about her gratefulness being raised in an "equal opportunity household" and the role her grandmother played in inspiring her that she could do anything she wanted.

Finally, Kim describes her qualifications of a Wonder Woman and offers her advice for the next generation of the "Girl Power" Movement. Here's a hint: find the place where you are truly "you" and let your actions speak for themselves.
