Powerful Women. Powerful Positions.

WONDER WOMEN is a podcast that showcases the female movers and shakers running and leading businesses, non-profits, governments, and schools across the Quad City Area, Iowa, and Illinois.

EPISODE 14: Every year, she looks forward to July - not because there's 4th of July or a big summer vacation planned for her family, but because she helps our community raise millions of dollars for more than 500 charities across our region - through golf.

Kristy Ketcham-Jackson in the Director of the Birdies for Charity Program, the fundraising vehicle of the John Deere Classic. Since its start, the golf tournament has raised more than $100 million for nonprofits big and small, breaking several records in the last few years.

In this month's podcast episode, this "Wonder Woman" shares her experience of taking on this huge responsibility and the way her team is adapting as the Birdies for Charity Program continues in the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic and the cancellation of the 2020 JDC. She explains her secrets to success and - SPOILER ALERT - a lot of it comes down to doing your job... and pushing yourself to doing it really, really, really well.

We are digging deeper in this podcast, though.

We ask Kristy about being a female leader in a male-dominated sport and how her staff celebrates equality, hard work, and upholds its reputation of being one of the most charitable golf tournaments on the PGA Tour.

Finally, Kristy answers our traditional "What is a Wonder Woman to you?" question - by offering the Who instead of the What... Who are the women who surround her every day that inspire and motivate her to be the best - and expect the best - in this business of fundraising.
