PHILADELPHIA — A Moline boy has gone viral across social media after the sign he created and raised during Games Four of the World Series caught the MLB's attention.
As a lifelong Philadelphia Phillies fan, Aimee Wren of Moline says she didn't think twice about pulling her boys out of school to watch the Phillies compete in the World Series. Of course, they first received the blessings of her kids' teachers.
Just for fun, the family decided to create a sign to take to the game. It read, "School is important. But (Phillies) baseball is importanter." Wren's son, Ethan, was photographed by MLB holding the sign, and MLB subsequently posted it to their Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages.
The post has amassed nearly 400,000 social reactions and over 12,000 shares/retweets. Millions of social media users have come across the photo since it was posted on Wednesday.
Aimee emailed News 8, "Players, local and national TV personalities, staff and fans alike couldn't get enough of Ethan and his sign!"
The Phillies are set to play against the Astros Saturday night at 7:03 p.m. CT for Game Six.
