LAKE COUNTY, Ill. — Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker held a press conference in Lake County, Illinois to discuss investment in higher education.

He was at the College of Lake County celebrating growth at the school. With funds from the Rebuild Illinois Capital Plan, the school was developing a student services building and adult education services building.

"We must invest in our state's future," said Governor Pritzker.  He went on to say the best way to grow the state was to "invest in young people."

The Rebuild Illinois plan is a series of investments to make improvements across the state. $45 billion is being funneled into projects like roads, bridges, railroads, universities, state facilities, and early childhood centers.  These projects will take place over the next six years.

The plan is expected to create 540,000 jobs during the six-year efforts.
