MOLINE, Illinois — Part of Interstate 74 at Route 6, near the QC Airport, was covered in hog entrails after a semi spill, according to the Moline Police Department.
I-74 was partially blocked to traffic as the Illinois Department of Transportation cleaned up the mess. The roadway was cleaned up by 7:45 p.m.
News 8 viewers reported a sewage-like mess along the roadway, accompanied by a bad smell in the area around 6:15 p.m. on Friday, December 20.
“The road remains slippery and greasy, so use caution when driving in that area,” read a post on the police department’s Facebook page. “Also our apologies to our neighbors to the north as the winds are blowing 8mph out of the south and carrying a scent even AXE body spray wouldn’t cover up.”
