TEHRAN, Iran-- All passengers and crew members on board a Ukrainian flight that crashed are confirmed dead.
The plane crashed shortly after takeoff early Wednesday morning, January 8, according to state T-V. They are also reporting a fire struck one of the plane's engines. Then the pilot lost control, sending the plane crashing.
167 passengers, 63 of which were Canadians, and nine crew members, were on board. No Americans were on the flight.
Iran's state broadcaster's reporting a black box has been recovered from the scene.
