Masks are strongly encouraged in Scott County after board votes no on mandate

The Scott County Board has voted no on the motion to require a face mask in public.

SCOTT COUNTY, Iowa — The Scott County Board has voted no on a motion to require a face mask in public. 

Instead, they voted yes on an amendment that strongly encourages the use of masks in public spaces where social distancing is not possible. 

The motion to amend was passed unanimously. 

A motion to require all guests to wear a mask in county buildings was tabled unanimously.
