Your weekend rundown for October 28th - 30th from WQAD and WLLR

From trivia night, to Halloween parades, and Boo at the Zoo, there are lots to do this weekend. Here's what you need to know.

MOLINE, Ill. — WQAD is excited to present a new segment that will air Thursday mornings during Good Morning Quad Cities. The segment will help you plan your weekend by giving you a rundown of local events you can't miss. The new segment partners the Good Morning Quad Cities team with Dani and Pat from WLLR's Leuck & Howe Morning Show.

Here's your weekend rundown for the weekend of October 28th - October 30th, 2022.

Quad Cities Missing Persons Network Trivia Night:

The Quad Cities Missing Persons Network will hold a Trivia night at CASI on Friday, October 28th. CASI is located at 1035 W. Kimberly Rd. in Davenport. Additionally there will be raffle baskets, a silent auction and 50/50 drawing, all to raise money for the Quad Cities Missing Persons Network. You can bring your own food, but drinks need to be purchased at the event. 

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the event starts at 7:00 p.m. There is a $80 cost for a table of eight. If you have less than eight people in your group, the cost is $10 per person.

Galena Halloween Parade:

The City of Galena, Illinois is preparing to welcome an estimated 25,000 people for their annual Halloween Parade happening Saturday. The Galena Chamber of Commerce says parking at Walmart off of U.S. Route 20 and taking the shuttle downtown may alleviate stress and traffic congestion. The shuttle costs $5 for everyone seven-years-old and older. The shuttle starts running at 3:00 p.m., will take a break for the parade at 6:00 p.m. and will pick up transport passengers after the parade until 11:00 p.m.

There will be around 60 groups walking in the parade, including 14 bands and other organizations. 

There will be food vendor options, along with Galena's restaurants available along the parade route.

Everyone is encouraged to dress in the Halloween spirit!

Bettendorf Halloween Parade:

The City of Bettendorf will be hosting their Halloween Parade Saturday, October 29th. The Parade starts at 6:30 p.m. It will start at the intersection of 23rd Street and Middle Road, then continue onto Spruce Hills Drive. 

The parade will turn left at 18th Street, continuing to Middle Road, turning left on Middle Road, and finishing at the entrance of the Life Fitness Center/Splash Landing parking lot.

Boo at the Zoo:

Boo at the Zoo is back this weekend. A long list of local organizations will be on hand, handing out treats for kiddos. 

Boo at the Zoo is taking place at Niabi Zoo from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm.

Wear your costumes and bring a smile.

Face masks are still required while participating in the Giraffe Feedings and when entering the Spineless Wonders exhibit.
