Two killed in single-vehicle Henry County crash

Two people are dead after a single-vehicle crash in rural Henry County, according to the Iowa State Patrol.

HENRY COUNTY, Iowa — Two people are dead and three are severely inured after a single-vehicle crash in rural Henry County, according to the Iowa State Patrol.

The crash occurred around 4:09 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28, according to an Iowa State Patrol crash report.

The vehicle was traveling westbound on Highway 34 at mile marker 246 when it left the roadway to the south, crossed the eastbound lane and entered the south ditch.

The vehicle then struck a parked truck, which caused it to roll on its side and come to a rest. 

All five occupants of the vehicle were seriously injured, with two suffering fatal wounds.

The deceased were identified as 50-year-old Sherry L. Reid of Stockport, Iowa and 73-year-old Judith M. Ellis of Ollie, Iowa.

The three injured individuals were transported to local and regional hospitals to be treated. Two were transported by helicopter.
