ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — Things are about to get spooky at the Hauberg Estate.
'Spirits & Bites: Return of the Halloween Edition' is happening on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 6 p.m. to midnight. Guests can enjoy a paranormal investigation of the Hauberg Mansion and Carriage House, led by the Quad City team, Whispering Souls Paranormal Investigations. Along the way, Hauberg staff will recount the ground's haunted history.
A taco bar is included in your ticket and a cash bar will be available. You can find tickets here.
Tarot readings will also be available for a separate cost and are provided by local medium, Ryan Sumpter.
This is one of the Hauberg's biggest fundraisers of the year. The proceeds will go back toward various upkeep and improvement projects around the historic estate.
Whispering Souls, the team leading the paranormal investigation, says the Hauberg is one of the most haunted places in the Quad Cities. Team members, Peg and Josh Rounds, joined The Current to discuss just how haunted it is.
Josh, who also works at the Hauberg, said he frequently hears footsteps, voices and creaking doors. Peg tells of numerous voices she's heard, from both recorders and her own ears. One of the most active voices is thought to be one of the Hauberg's old cooks.
The team said its purpose is to provide evidence-based findings of the paranormal and provide educational opportunities on the paranormal realm to the community.
Tune into The Current from 4 to 5 p.m. on weekdays to catch live interviews impacting you, your family and your hometown as well as all of the biggest headlines of the day.
