Nine men, one woman arrested on Saturday during aftermath of afternoon demonstrations

Charges include aggravated rioting, aggravated robbery, breaking and entering, failure to disperse, resisting arrest, and failure to comply.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo Police arrested ten people on Saturday after protests calling for police accountability and racial justice turned violent.

The charges include aggravated rioting, aggravated robbery, breaking and entering, failure to disperse, resisting arrest, and failure to comply.

Of the nine black men and one white woman, only one was not from Toledo.

All ten are expected to appear in court on Monday morning.

They include:

Police and protesters clashed on Saturday afternoon after the planned demonstration in downtown began to break up.

Different groups of demonstrators moved to different parts of the downtown and uptown area where police used tear gas and shot wooden slugs to get them to disperse.
