Preschoolers assist Geneseo artists in 2nd mural

Artists from MuralSoup have already put more than 60 hours into the project.

GENESEO, Ill. — Preschoolers from First Lutheran Church got the chance to get involved in artwork in Geneseo Tuesday morning.

The mural, which is located on the wall behind the All in Stitches embroidery shop, is the second mural in the area.

The painting portrays a quilt. Preschoolers dipped their hands in paint, leaving handprints on a portion of the artwork.

Artist from Mural Soup, Heidi Sallows said the mural uses multiple patterns to represent different areas of Geneseo.

"The big leaves are for Geneseo for the Maple Leafs. Then we also have a MuralSoup insignia that will go down there for our business. We have a church over there, which I believe is one of the churches here in town and then we'll have some pretty flowers, sunshine and then over there will be some sports because Geneseo is really into their sports."

Sallows said she and one other artist have already put more than 60 hours into the mural. They plan to put in an additional 60 hours over the course of the next three days.
