A car burst into flames as its owner was volunteering at an Honor Flight event in Davenport, Iowa.

A car burst into flames as its owner was volunteering at an Honor Flight event in Davenport, Iowa.

The volunteer was helping the Davenport Police Department direct traffic at the Honor Flight's preview dinner Wednesday, September 23, according to a spokesperson with the Davenport Police Department. The car was parked at Northgate Place near HyVee off of East Kimberly Road when it caught on fire around around 4 p.m.

There was nobody in the car when it caught on fire and there were no reported injuries, police said.

Firefighters had the flames out in about 5 - 10 minutes, but were not sure what caused the fire.
