Gaining an hour back from Daylight Saving Time may seem nice for one morning, but the adjustment of going to sleep later may decrease productivity.

According to a report by Business Insider, even at the end of Daylight Saving Time in the fall when we gain an hour, the change can disturb sleep patterns. “When we Fall Back, we might have trouble adjusting to going to sleep “later” after the time change.”
Business Insider reported a finding published in the Journal of Applied Psychology which suggests sleepiness leads to a loss of productivity for people who have a desk job. Instead of a productive day, in its place could be “cyberloafing” which is described as when “people muck around more on the computer instead of working.”
The end of Daylight Saving Time affects all of the United States except for Arizona, Hawaii, U.S. Virgin Islands, and American Samoa which do not observe the change.
