“Yes, it is true and it happened!”
That’s what the Roselle, Illinois Police Department included with dash-cam video they recently posted to the department’s brand new Facebook page. The video shows a tree, clearly stuck in the front end of a car as the vehicle continues to travel along a street at night.
“Some just didn’t believe it was true, so we have attached a short video,” the Facebook post said. It was actually a follow-up post to one shared Saturday, March 4, 2016, showing photos of the tree-car.
“A few weeks ago, a Roselle police officer saw a car driving southbound on Roselle Road with a 15-foot tree embedded in the front grill of the car. After stopping the driver, he also noticed the airbags had been deployed (apparently from hitting the tree). After an investigation, the Roselle officer arrested the driver for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol,” the first post read.
The 54-year-old woman driving the car had reportedly told police she struck the tree in Schaumburg, and had traveled from there to Roselle where she was pulled over, according to the Chicago Tribune.
“Yet another reason why you should not drink and drive!” the Roselle PD Facebook post said.
