“Where there are military in need, that’s where we will be,” is their motto.
The Pickard Project held its first fundraiser on Saturday, September 26th, 2015 at Racer’s Edge in East Moline.
The non-profit organization is raising money to support military veterans and their families through care packages and ways to combat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). It was created in honor and memory of Spc. Heath K. Pickard.
“Our military families need more help,” said Monica Evans, Founder of the Pickard Project. “I’ve watched families grieve and I watched our family grieve with PTSD and I wanted a way to give back to all these men and women who’ve done so much for us.”
