Hundreds without power in Illinois, Iowa after snow

UPDATE: 2/20 8:55 a.m. – MidAmerican Energy is now reporting 95 power outages in the Quad Cities and 29 in Waterloo. Alliant’s outages near Salem have been restored. Several Ameran outages have also been restored with a few remaining south of the Quad Cities.

UPDATE: 2/20 6:20 a.m.Ameren is reporting 2,845 outages across Illinois. Most of them are focused around the Macomb area. These outages started around 5:30 a.m. Crews are expecting restoration around 8 a.m.

UPDATE: 2/20 4:50 a.m.Alliant Energy is reporting more than 1,100 people without power south of Mount Pleasant, Iowa near Salem on Wednesday, Feb. 20. Crews are on the way, but the cause is unknown.

UPDATE: 2/20 4:15 a.m.MidAmerican Energy is reporting more than 430 power outages in the Illinois Quad Cities early Wednesday morning, Feb. 20.

ORIGINAL STORY: MOLINE, Illinois — MidAmerican Energy reported nearly 1,800 customers without power in the Illinois Quad Cities.

The outages were reported between 10:45 p.m. and 11 p.m., on Tuesday, Feb. 19.  Restoration times were expected to be between 1:15 a.m. and 2 a.m. Wednesday, according to the energy company.
