FORT MADISON, Iowa — The Iowa State Penitentiary was placed on restricted movement Saturday, July 30, after several altercations took place, says a press release from the Department of Corrections. The incidents involved multiple offenders with no serious injuries.
No staff injuries were reported.
The visiting room is closed for the rest of the weekend and the incident is still under investigation.
