Vandervelde heard about a Moline teenager who was recently diagnosed with cancer and decided to use the tickets to help him in his fight. The teen, Brenden McGee, gained popularity around the Quad Cities through a random act of kindness when he was working at Whitey's. Vandervelde had heard about the situation, where Brenden offered a free milk shake to a woman who was crying because she had lost her husband.
Vandervelde decided it was now his turn to do something nice for Brenden.
Those two extra tickets have been put on auction, and all the money will go to Brenden's Fight.
According to the Brenden's Fight Facebook page, Brenden was diagnosed on December 10 with Hodgkins Lymphoma.
