BURLINGTON, Iowa — Police have confirmed that the remains found near the area of Lake West were human.
Nearly a week after detectives on scene found what they said “is believed to be a human foot,” Lt. Jeff Klein confirmed that it was human. The foot was found June 8, 2016.
Klein said the remains have been sent to the Department of Criminal Investigation lab “for DNA extraction and analysis.” Results weren’t expected for six to eight months.
