ROCK ISLAND, Illinois--- A group of neighbors from Rock Island's Historic Broadway District decided to spend the night caroling, going door-to-door throughout their neighborhood. They say tonight's snowfall only added to the ambiance, helping them and their neighbors get into the holiday spirit.

The group of about a dozen carolers had quite the songbook: singing everything from "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" and "Deck the Halls" to the old classic "Here We Go a Wassailing." Armed only with sheet music and a faux candle, neighbors of all ages, headed throughout the historic district's streets, singing to anyone who would listen.

The idea started with Dylan Parker's social media post. Parker lives in the District. He says he put a post online, saying, "Hey, we've got a group of carolers, anyone want us to come carol to you?" And they did!

People of all ages and backgrounds responded, so the carolers created a list and a map. Caroler Dylan Parker, who also lives in the neighborhood, says, "We wanted to spread good cheer and good will."

Wishing their neighbors a "Merry Christmas" and a "Happy New Year."
