BELLEVUE, Iowa — An investigation is underway into a fatal falling incident at Bellevue State Park.
The victim was identified Monday as 36-year-old Iris Merfeld, of Zwingle, Iowa, according to a news release from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
Authorities said the call came just before 4:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18.
Police said one person had fallen from a bluff at the park. The victim was pronounced dead on scene.
The Iowa DNR and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation were investigating further into the incident.
