Gov. Reynolds says unemployment claims hit 41,000, no shelter in place order

DES MOINES, Iowa — Gov. Reynolds delivered her live address on March 26.

The governor announced 34 positive cases 179 in total. 

She says closures will be extended until April 7.

The governor also expanded the disaster proclamation saying several more retail stores will need to close and elective surgeries should be delayed or canceled.

Unemployment claims in Iowa are around 40,952.

The Iowa Works Director says $10.6-million has been paid for the last weeks' initial claims.
