Jordan Murphy murder investigation expected to finish mid-December

Detectives say the investigation should be wrapped up by December 13.

MOLINE, Illinois- Moline police are putting together a timeline and trying to figure out what happened in the hours before a Moline woman was stabbed to death.

Police say in November, 37-year-old Jordan Murphy was found dead in a home she shared with her boyfriend Kyle Dykeman.

Police say Dykeman stabbed Murphy to death.   It was unclear how long Jordan has been dead before she was found; police said evidence suggests she had been deceased for "quite some time."

Dykeman was later found dead from an apparent suicide in the Relax Inn hotel on Brady Street in Davenport.

An autopsy for Dykeman has been scheduled for Thursday, December 5.  Detectives say the investigation should be wrapped up by December 13.

The family of Jordan has started a gofundme that has well surpassed its original goal of $1000. You can find that HERE.

(Editor's Note: An earlier version of this article mistakenly indicated Dykeman died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.  Police have yet to confirm a method of suicide.)
