The QC COVID Coalition provided updates to COVID-19 vaccine rollout in their Thursday, February 25, including increased opportunities for certain Illinoisans.

The Rock Island County Health Department announced that vaccine opportunities are being made available for Illinois residents with certain pre-existing conditions, such as:

  • Obesity
  • Pregnancy
  • Pulmonary disease
  • Sickle Cell Disease

Officials want to remind the public that the increased availability will make getting a time slot for a vaccine appointment will be slightly harder, and to remain patient. Time slots can be reserved through the usual online registration.

In Scott County, the same group of patients with pre-existing conditions is scheduled to be cleared for vaccination in Phase 1C. Officials remind the public that Iowa is still in the planning stages for Phase 1B Tier 2, and are still prioritizing Tier 1 priority groups alongside the senior population.

Officials also reiterated a point made in an earlier briefing by Iowa governor Kim Reynolds promising that an extra one-time supply is on its way to Scott County soon. The Scott County Health Department will have more information on this allocation in the future.
