Here's what's canceled due to coronavirus concerns

Activities and special events all over the world are being canceled due to coronavirus concerns. 

Here's what's been canceled or postponed in our area:

Adler Theatre - Darci Lynn "Fresh out of the Box" performance on March 14 is postponed.

Adler Theatre's Waitress - March 17, postponed

Adler Theatre: BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL. New Performance date will be Tuesday, May 11, 2021 

Amboy Fire Department - 11th Bi-Annual Fire School rescheduled from April 4-5 to August 15-16. 

Augustana College COVID-19 teach-in - March 16, canceled

Beaux Arts Fair -- Changed to a Virtual Spring 2020 event. Find more information here 

Black Box Theatre - Turn of the Screw showings canceled. Reopen performances on April 2.

Boys and Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Valley - Postponing Great Futures Breakfast that was scheduled for March 27. New date will be selected at a later time. The Moline Center is also closed March 17 through March 30. 

On Monday, March 16, the Scott County Health Department took the position that school districts follow the Governor’s recommendation. With this letter, the Bettendorf Community School District along with Davenport, North Scott, and Pleasant Valley, is announcing the closure of all schools through Friday, April 10. 

Bettendorf City - Below is a list of city departments’ temporary closures and cancellations as of March 18, 2020.

The Easter Egg Extravaganza scheduled for Saturday, April 4, 2020, has been canceled.

Palmer Grill, at Palmer Hills Golf Course, is closed. The Grill will offer carryout and curbside pickup. Call 563-344-7169 to place an order.

The Family Museum is closed through March 31, 2020. All classes have been canceled.

The Bettendorf Public Library is closed through April 30, 2020.

The Life Fitness Center and Community Center will be closed to the public until April 30, 2020.

Bridging the Gap Taco Fundraiser at the Viking Club Moline - postponed until April 22

CASI St. Patrick's Day Race - The 5k race was canceled and was originally to be held Saturday, March 14. It is currently unclear if a future date will be set.

Casinos the Illinois Gaming Board has extended the suspension of all video gaming operations at all licensed establishments of any kind and all casino gambling operations in Illinois until at least April 30, 2020. 

Center for Active Seniors - The Center For Active Seniors, Inc. (CASI) will be closed through April 30.

Circa 21 Speakeasy- Because of the state-mandated restrictions on restaurants & bars, Circa is closed until further notice.

Clinton Discovery Center - closed

Colona District Public Library- Closed

Davenport Schools Spring Break Booster Club trips - canceled

Diocese of Davenport - The diocese is releasing people who are sick, people who are at high risk from COVID-19, and churchgoers from Johnson County from the obligation to attend Mass.

Diocese of Peoria  - The diocese, acting alongside others, is suspending public masses beginning March 14th. Select other services may still be performed. 

DMV Illinois - Temporarily closed

Family Museum in Bettendorf - Temporarily closed

Family Resources Opening Doors Gala - A Night of Music on April 3rd - postponed until October

Flourish - Postponed at the Putnam Museum to Sept. 10, 2020. The event is put on by the Living Proof Exhibit, click here for more information

Fulton's Windmill Cultural Center's Wild Winter Wednesday --  is canceled for the season

Galesburg Annual Easter Egg Hunt - April 5th date canceled, may be rescheduled in the future.

Galesburg Railroad Days - June 25 - 28 - cancelled

Galesburg - City of Galesburg facilities, including Galesburg City Hall, will be closed to the public, effective March 19.

Galesburg spring clean up days - Set to be April 6-10, cancelled

Honor Flight QC - All trips through April 30 have been postponed.

Hope Creek Spring Bazaar - postponed

Hy-Vee - Starting Wednesday, March 18, Hy-Vee stores will close at 8 p.m. Until further notice, Hy-Vee’s new store hours will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week. These shortened hours will allow employees additional time to clean and sanitize all areas of the store, as well as restock the items in highest demand. Operating with shorter hours also will allow employees additional time to care for their families and loved ones.

17th Annual Henry Farnam Dinner - Rescheduled for May 28 at Jumer's Casino and Hotel. 

Illinois casinos - Illinois's 10 casinos are closed through April

Illinois Gaming Board - All video gaming operations are suspended until April 30. 

Illinois and Iowa Departments of Corrections: Visitation is suspended until further notice.

Illinois Lottery - The Illinois Lottery announced that beginning Tuesday, March 17, 2020, all of its claim centers will be closed to the public until further notice.  These closures are in response to recent public health concerns due to COVID-19.

Illinois State Parks, Historic Sites, Recreational Areas and Fish and Wildlife Facilities - No camping is allowed.

John Deere - John Deere Attractions are temporarily closed.

Kavanaugh's Hilltop Bar & Grill - Canceled 8th annual Shamrockin Paddy O'Pardy Saturday, March 14. 

Kwik Star Criterium– The Kwik Star Criterium, an annual Memorial Day weekend tradition run by the Quad Cities Bicycle Club for over 50 years is cancelled for 2020. 

Milestones Area Agency on Aging - The Davenport agency is postponing their March 21 Quad City Caregiver Conference. 

Moline High School's spring musical is canceled for Saturday and Sunday, March 13, 14

Moonlight Chase Race in Eldridge --  July 11th - cancelled

Muscatine The City of Muscatine will be closing public access to all city-owned buildings, including City Hall, starting Monday, March 23, 2020. The City will continue to provide all services to the citizens of Muscatine.

Pleasant Valley High School - Canceled Easter Egg Extravaganza. The event was originally scheduled for April 4.

Putnam Museum -Temporarily closed

QCCA’S Flower and Garden Show and Preview Gala - Canceled. The Preview Gala was to be held the day before the event on March 26 and the garden show was to run from March 27 to the 29th. Full refunds are available.

Quad City Botanical Center - Closed including all programs, classes and events.

Quad City In-Fisherman Swap Meet on Saturday, April 4th, held at the QCCA EXPO CENTER, Rock Island has been cancelled.

Quad City Symphony Orchestra - New date for the Living Proof Exhibit Opera: Karkinos - formerly was planned for May 10, but will now be on February 13, 2021.  Masterworks VI: Triumph set for April 4 & 5 is cancelled.  Click here for more information.

Recycle the Runway - Postponed to Thursday, August 27. Click here for more.

Rock Island Public Library - Closed through April 30

Rock Island Parks and Recreation - Effective March 17th, the Rock Island Parks and Recreation Department is temporarily closing the Rock Island Fitness and Activity Center and suspending all scheduled programming.

R.I.A. Federal Credit Union - Locations closed. Branch transactions limited to drive-up only. 

Rust Belt - All upcoming events are being postponed.

Salvation Army - All services at The Salvation Army Family services are being handled over the phone with no in-office appointments. The number to call is 563-324-4808.

All other activities at the Quad Cities Family Services, and the Davenport and Moline Heritage Temple Corps, are cancelled until further notice.

Special Olympics Iowa's Mid-Winter Tournament - The event was on March 13 and 14 but is now canceled. 

St. Patrick's Day Grand Parade - Saturday, March 14, postponed

Unity Point Health - Grief Support and Grief Education groups are cancelled for the remainder of the month.

Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony - The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony Youth Concerts scheduled for Tuesday, April 7th at Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center have been canceled. The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony concert on Saturday, April 18th, presenting the National Geographic documentary JANE, will be postponed to a later date, most likely in the 2020-2021 season. The program for the postponed concert will be identical to the one scheduled for April 18th

Western Illinois Area Agency on Aging - Suspending all group meal sites and activities at senior centers.

Social Security Offices - Will be closed to the public for in-person service starting Tuesday, March 17, 2020.  This decision protects the population we serve—older Americans and people with underlying medical conditions—and our employees during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.  However, we are still able to provide critical services.

Scott County YMCA - Child Watch is closed, all group programs are suspended (including rentals, community groups and birthday parties), all youth program is suspended, Day Passes are not available, children 14 and under must be with a parent. Click here for more information.

Here's what's been canceled or postponed in QC area sports:

Augustana College - The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin has cancelled all competition or the remainder of the spring season. All Augustana College spring sports activities are suspended until further notice.

Illinois Elementary School Association State Wrestling Finals - March 13-14, canceled

Illinois High School Association Boys Basketball State Series - limited attendance. Refunds will be available.

Iowa High School Athletic Association, Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union, Iowa High School Music Association, Iowa High School Speech Association - All spring activities are prohibited until April 13. 

Missouri Valley Conference Women's Basketball Tournament - canceled

NAIA Winter Championship events - canceled 

NCAA March Madness - Remaining games, canceled

NCAA DIII Wrestling Championship - March 13-14, closed to fans
