More than 45 local businesses and groups are offering discounts as part of the 13th Annual “Be a Tourist in Your Own Backyard Weekend.”
The annual event is observed in 2014 from January 17 to 20.
More than 15 hotels are offering special rates and packages for the weekend, and other area attractions, shops, spas, restaurants and businesses are offering discounts as part of the event.
“With Monday, January 20th a holiday for many parents and students, that weekend is a great time to be a tourist in your own backyard and enjoy an affordable hotel stay,” said Joe Taylor, President and CEO of the Quad Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau. “People don’t have to travel far during the winter or spend a lot of money to have a great and affordable weekend getaway.”
