Police say they found a marijuana grow operation at a house in Sterling, Illinois.

Officers made the discovery while executing a search warrant at a home in the 1400 block of Third Avenue just after 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2013 according to a statement from the Sterling Police Department.

“The search warrant resulted in the finding of a grow operation containing between 50 – 200 cannabis plants,” the statement said.

Robert Grikmanis, 46, was arrested and charged with felony unlawful production of cannabis sativa plants.   Police said they planned to pursue possible additional charges.

Jail records showed Grikmanis remained held in the Whiteside County Jail in lieu of $60,000 bond.
