Philip Plattenberger, 39, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois was arrested Tuesday, November 20, 2012.  He is charged with being a child sex offender associated with a program exclusively directed towards children under 18.

A statement from the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office says they investigated after receiving a tip that Plattenberger was coaching  youth baseball team in the Fulton, Illinois area.

Plattenberger was also charged with being a sex offender present in a park.   He was a registered sex offender since he pleaded guilty to indecent solicitation of a child in 2001.

According to the Illinois Sex Offender Registry, Eyrich was convicted in Michigan of attempting to sexually assault a seven-year-old child.     Eyrich was 30 years old at the time of the offense.
