Three injured from shooting in Rock Island neighborhood

Police are investigating a possible shooting.

ROCK ISLAND, Illinois -- Police are looking for the shooter in an incident that ended in three people with gunshot wounds in a Rock Island neighborhood near Longview Park.

The Rock Island Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting shots fired at 8:24 p.m. on April 1. Witnesses say they heard several shots being fired and thought it was their TV at first. They also say one person was seen being carried away on a stretcher.

When officers arrived, they found a victim with a gunshot wound in the 900 block of 14 1/2 Street. This victim was treated on the scene before ultimately being flown to a hospital in Peoria. The victim is in stable condition.

Another shooting victim was found in the same block inside a residence. This victim was treated at a Rock Island hospital and later released.

A third victim was found in the 900 block of 26th Street. This victim had been grazed by a bullet and had left the scene. The victim was taken to a local hospital where they were later released.
