12-year-old North Scott Junior High student charged with attempted murder to appear in court

The North Scott Junior High School student charged with attempted murder appeared in court Monday, September 10 for a pre-hearing.

UPDATE: DAVENPORT, Iowa -- The North Scott Junior High School student charged with attempted murder will appear in court today, October 8, 2018. Officials are supposed to decide whether he will be tried as a juvenile or as an adult.

EARLIER: The student was suppose to appear last Monday, Oct. 1, but his hearing has been postponed several times.

The student's first appeared in court Monday, September 10 for a pre-hearing.

The 12-year-old, along with his parents and an attorney, were the only ones allowed in the courtroom.   The public was not allowed in.

The student is charged with attempted murder after police said he brought a loaded gun to school on Friday, August 31.
