QUINCY, Ill. (AP) — A judge is considering another request to lower bond for a former Illinois prosecutor facing a second murder trial in his wife’s death.
Curtis Lovelace’s attorneys filed a motion Tuesday asking for his bond to be lowered from $5 million to $3.5 million, the (Quincy) Herald-Whig reports. A previous request to lower Lovelace’s bond to $1 million was denied last month.
The attorneys hope to get a hearing with the judge on the latest bond reduction request before the next scheduled hearing on June 17.
Lovelace, a former assistant Adams County state’s attorney, is charged with first-degree murder in the 2006 Valentine’s Day death of his wife, Cory.
