Police are looking for two men who escaped from a prison in Illinois.
The Illinois Department of Corrections sent out a press release at 8:30pm on Sunday, December 6th stating two offenders escaped from the Dixon Springs Impact Incarceration Program in Golconda, Illinois at 5:50pm. Golconda, Illinois is located nearly 400 miles south of the Quad Cities, near the Illinois-Kentucky border.
The men are Jerrette Reed and Kevin Rivera. According to the press release, Reed is serving a three-year sentence on meth-related charges out of Randolph County and Rivera is serving a five-year sentence for the manufacture and delivery of cocaine out of Cook County. Both men were last seen wearing an orange t-shirt and blue pants with a yellow stripe along the sides.
According to the Illinois Department of Corrections, Reed is 25 years old, White, weighs 155 pounds, is 5’9″, has brown hair, hazel eyes, and has several tattoos – including a “Tribal Angel With Wings” sleeve on his right arm, a “Tribal Skull Grimm Reaper” sleeve on his left arm, a “Devil Cross, RIP Dad, Scroll Rosary” on his back, a “Diamond Sun Burst” on his face, and “Trail 618 Orlando Face” on his neck.
According to the Illinois Department of Corrections, Rivera is 20 years old, Hispanic, weighs 182 pounds, is 5’9″, has black hair, brown eyes, and has no tattoos.
“Though Reed and Rivera are both incarcerated for non-violent crimes, we advice people to use caution and contact authorities immediately if they see them or notice suspicious activity in their communities,” said the press release.
The Illinois Department of Corrections is currently working with local authorities to find the offenders.
