Davenport man faces sexual exploitation, abuse charges against minors

The man was first charged with sexual abuse back in February, after police say they found sexual photos of a 12-year-old on his cell phone.

DAVENPORT, Iowa — A Davenport man, facing charges for sexual abuse, has now been charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. 

48-year old David Michael Woods was first arrested on Thursday, February 4 after police say they found photos on Woods' phone of a 12-year-old engaging in a sexual act with another person. 

Woods was charged with two counts of Third-Degree Sexual Abuse and was released on bond.  

After further investigation, detectives say they found more photos on Woods' phone of a 15-year-old engaged in sexual acts. 

On Tuesday, June 22 Woods was charged with two counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, with Cause to Engage in a Prohibited Sex Act. 

Woods was booked into the Scott County Jail the same day. Bond is set at $500,000. 

The investigation remains ongoing.
