A falling unemployment rate nationwide sends a good signal for both job seekers and employers that their search may soon come to an end.
In mid-October, the number of Americans applying for jobless benefits fell to its lowest level since the beginning of the pandemic, in March of 2020.
The U.S. unemployment rate dropped from 5.2% in August to 4.8% in September. In August Iowa stood at 4.1% and Illinois stood at 7%.
