From the Archives: The year 2000 brought an unseasonably warm February

It was February 22, 2000 and News 8's John David explored a spring-like thaw.

HILLSDALE, Ill. — On February 22, 2000 the Quad Cities was experiencing an out-of-season thaw.

News 8's John David captured the good vibes that came along with sunshine and warm temps (for the Midwest, anyway).

The high temperature that day was 49°F  and residents were spending it outside and treating it like a spring day. 

The average temperature in Davenport, Iowa on February 22 ranges between 24°F and 35°F, according to Weather Spark, which compiles typical weather for more than 150,000 locations across the world.
