MOLINE, Illinois-- It was time to help feed the hungry and support the River Bend Foodbank Monday, November 25.
The Good Morning Quad Cities crew turkey bowled at Donut Delite, off Avenue of the Cities in Moline, until noon Monday morning.
People used frozen turkeys to knock over bowling pins. Anyone who came by could bowl; $5 got you two bowls. If you got a strike, Donut Delite will gave you a free donut and coffee; a spare got you a free donut. All proceeds went to the River Bend Foodbank.
Last year during the fundraiser, we raised $1,149.56. That money provided 5,747 meals for families in need.
According to Jennifer Schroder with the River Bend Foodbank, 2019's Turkey Bowling raised $689 and 7.5 pounds of food. That equals 3,451.25 meals.
