Effrage is the Evening Weekend Meteorologist and Weather Reporter for WQAD. She was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. As a child, she would spend her summers in St. Louis with family, so she has some familiarity with the mid-west.

Effrage graduated from Texas A&M University in 2020 with a degree in Meteorology and a minor in oceanography. During her time at TAMU Effrage did news cast for the local pbs kids’ TV station, KAMU -TV, and the local radio stations, KTRL and KAMU - FM. She was the lead researcher on a project for one of her professors and presented that research at the January 2020 American Meteorological Society Conference in Boston. The research was on The Correlation Between Lightning Activity and Precipitation using Hurricane Harvey, Tropical Storm Imelda, and a major 2019 flooding event that occurred in Houston as case studies.

Effrage loves sports. During her time at TAMU Effrage was a part of Team 12, a student organization that works with TAMU’s Football and Basketball teams. One of her biggest accomplishments for working with the football team was being able to watch the famous 7-time over-time game against LSU in 2018 on 5-yard line. Being from Dallas she is a huge Mavericks fan, MFFL, but not so much a Cowboy’s fan so your insults will not offend her. Effrage was also a Tour Guide at Texas A&M, so if you have any questions about the school, she can answer your questions.

She is looking forward to finally being able to experience winter and exploring the Quad Cities. If you have any recommendations on where to eat or how to survive the winter please let her know at effrage.davis@wqad.com , Twitter, or Facebook.

Thanks, and Gig ‘em
