Cesar Sanchez

Cesar Sanchez is a multi-skilled journalist at News 8. He joined our team in the summer of 2022.

MOLINE, Ill. — Cesar Sanchez joined the WQAD News 8 team in July 2022 as a multi-skilled journalist.

Cesar grew up in Arlington Heights, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in May 2022 with a degree in journalism. He previously attended William Rainey Harper College in Palatine, Illinois, and graduated with a communications degree in May 2019.

At Harper College, Cesar worked with the campus’s radio station, WHCM 88.3 FM. He was a co-host of a sports show called, "Monday Madness Sports Talk" and "Beyond the Game." 

He was also the station’s sports director, working closely with Harper Hawks sports.

Cesar would then transfer to Illinois where he would become a reporter and anchor for the campus student-run TV station.

During his time off, Cesar enjoys watching his favorite sports teams. He is a massive fan of Jake Burger, third baseman of the Chicago White Sox, and Dane Dunning, starting pitcher of the Texas Rangers. Cesar also enjoys spending time with family and listening to Kanye West.
