Anthony Peoples
Evening Meteorologist
Anthony joined the Storm Track 8000 weather team in November 2005.
Since joining Quad Cities' News Channel 8, his efforts to keep you safe in severe weather has been recognized by the Illinois Associated Press. Anthony and the rest of newsteam won that organization's "Best Spot News Coverage" award for the June 1, 2007, Fruitland, Iowa tornado coverage.
His passion for studying the weather began when he was just four years old. At four, Anthony was cutting weather stories out of newspapers and building weather vanes and instruments. Anthony's early passion for meteorology led to a degree in Broadcast Television News from Murray State University and a Broadcast Meteorology Certification from Mississippi State University.
Anthony is a member of the National Weather Association and he holds its television "Seal of Approval."
Before coming to the Quad Cities, Anthony worked in Salisbury, MD; Youngstown, OH; Mansfield, OH; Lubbock, TX; Rhinelander, WI and Chicago, IL.
When not forecasting the weather, Anthony enjoys spending time with his golden retriever, ABBA (yes, just like the band), attending Reba McEntire concerts (Anthony met Reba in 2005 and has seen her in concert nine times, including an international road trip to Ontario, Canada, in June 2007) and giving in to his sweet tooth by enjoying fabulous desserts!
