About Dancing With The Stars

Stars from the worlds of music, drama, sports and business join professional dancers to see who can survive the rigors of training and competition on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars."

Hosted by Tom Bergeron ("America's Funniest Home Videos") and Samantha Harris ("The Insider"), the celebrities perform choreographed dance routines which are judged by renowned Ballroom judge Len Goodman and dancer/choreographers Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba.

Think dancing is easy? Tell that to the stars and pros who have suffered through pain and injury to perform that Paso Doble. The celebs are stretched in ways they never imagined as they learn ballroom dance routines for the Waltz, Tango, East Coast Swing, Jive and more. Each week, viewers cast their votes for their favorite teams to determine who will advance to the next round. Some of the most renowned dancers and choreographers of our time perform on elimination night, and when we discover who will stay and who will go. In addition, couples take part in a team dance, group dance and face-off. And in an exciting new twist, the bottom two couples facing elimination will "Dance Off" to determine who is dismissed in the first weeks of competition.

"Dancing with the Stars" is the U.S. version of the international smash hit series, "Strictly Come Dancing." This version is produced by BBC Worldwide Americas. Conrad Green serves as executive producer and Rob Wade and Matilda Zoltowski are co-executive producers. Alex Rudzinski directs.
