The remains of Sgt. Schuyler Patch are scheduled to arrive back to western Illinois Thursday afternoon after Sgt. Patch gave his life serving in Afghanistan.
The plane carrying Sgt. Patch is expected to arrive at the Quad City International Airport in Moline around 2:09pm. After giving the family a moment with their fallen soldier, a procession bringing Sgt. Patch home to Kewanee will begin.
The procession will travel south on IL Route 150 through Coal Valley and Orion, then turn on IL Route 81 at Lynn Center. It will head east on IL Route 81 traveling through Andover, Cambridge and then into Kewanee.
The procession will then turn from IL Route 81 to IL Route 78 south into downtown Kewanee. It will turn on right on East 3rd Street, then right on N. East Street, and right on East 2nd Street before stopping briefly at the Kewanee Veteran's Park.
If you want to show your support to Sgt. Patch's family, you may gather along the procession route or at Veteran's Park no later than 2:30pm. You're asked to be patient with the times. You may bring a flag or a sign to show the family your support.
