DAVENPORT, Iowa -
Davenport Oscar Meyer employees put down the bologna and picked up paint brushes Tuesday morning to help The Salvation Army.
The program is Kraft Foods' first global "Make A Delicious Difference Week," aimed at fighting hunger and lending a hand. Employees spent the morning cleaning up at The Salvation Army's Davenport Family Service Center and painting the hallways. The company provided food and assistance to the center which houses about 450 adults and children every year.
Volunteers say they are expecting a greater need heading into the winter season, due to a down economy and cooler weather. 10,000 Kraft Foods employees are participating in local events, worldwide this week.
