MOLINE, Illinois - Locals were shocked when they heard the news that Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, died Thursday afternoon.

Stephen Moller of COOP Records said he received a text of Jackson's death and didn't think it was true. "People like him just don't go this early. I mean, he was awesome." He had several customers come in to buy Jackson's CDs. "I really enjoyed his music," said customer Betty VanEckhoutte as she picked up the Thriller CD she called and reserved Thursday afternoon. "(He was) a hell of a dancer and he's gonna be missed. I was hoping he'd come back so I'm real saddened he's gone."

Customer Dennis Schaefer isn't a fan of Jackson's but knows the impact the singer left behind. "He's a legend, no doubt about it."
