SCOTT COUNTY, Iowa -
Police have identified the driver killed in a terrible accident Saturday night in Scott County.
It happened on Highway 67 north of Le Claire, when a pickup and van collided head on. John Kernan, 60, of Le Claire died at the scene. Kernan, of the family-owned Kernans Restaurant, was well known in the community.
The driver of the pick-up, Bobby Glass of clinton was taken to Genesis East hospital in Davenport. Police say his truck crossed the center line. They are still investigating what led Glass' truck to cross the line.
