COAL VALLEY, Illinois -
A Coal Valley company is recalling 95,898 pounds of ground beef because of possible E. Coli contamination. The U.S. Dept. of Agriculture announced the recall this morning.
Valley Meats LLC makes ground beef products for several different brands, including J & B and Grillmaster. The USDA says the meat was producted on March 10th. The government calls this a Class One recall. That means there is a reasonable chance that eating this product will cause serious health problems.
This is not the first time Valley Meats has been the center of possible E. Coli contamination. In 2007, the company recalled more than 100,000 pounds of ground beef.
If you need a complete list of recalled products, you can check the USDA's website. The link is www.fsis.usda.gov.
