CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) — The former manager of Agriprocessor Inc. has been moved to an individual cell at the Linn County Jail after getting into a scuffle with another inmate.

Sheriff Brian Gardner says Sholom Rubashkin and another inmate were arguing over the volume of a television Tuesday night when the disagreement turned physical. Authorities say the incident occurred in a common area of the cell block where the men reside.

Gardner says both inmates were put in cells by themselves until a hearing officer decides whether they should face further punishment.

The 51-year-old Rubashkin has been in custody in Cedar Rapids since his conviction Nov. 12 on 86 financial fraud-related charges related or running the Postville kosher slaughterhouse.

A U.S. District Court judge and a three-member federal appellate court panel have denied his efforts to be released on bail.
