DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — The Iowa Army National Guard is planning homecoming ceremonies in five communities to mark the return of units mobilized as part of efforts in Iraq.
The celebrations are planned for Wednesday in Audubon at the high school, the Johnson County 4-H Fairgrounds in Iowa City, North Iowa Fairgrounds in Mason City, at the high school in Perry and the community college in Marshalltown.
The roughly 300 returning soldiers were mobilized about a year ago from the 1133rd and 1168th Transportation Companies.
